Prayer Request: Bone Marrow Aspiration

QUICK HEALTH UPDATE!

Tomorrow will be my 30th day of taking the Prednisone/Ponatinib/Asciminib combination. We are hoping that these medications have a synergistic effect in making each other more effective in stopping and killing the growth of leukemia blasts in my blood and marrow compared to taking it one at a time. We have seen some good results that there are no leukemia blasts already seen on my regular CBC tests! Praise God! So, tomorrow I will be having a bone marrow aspiration to once again get some blood and marrow samples for biopsy and Minimal Residual Disease testing. Whatever the results are will determine our future steps in my treatment options — Continue the combination, or Blinatumomab Targeted Immunotherapy and or a Second Bone Marrow Transplant. So what we pray and hope is that the 15-65% of blasts seen in my last bone marrow biopsy be decreased exponentially or even completely negative. This is the miracle that I’ve been praying and believing for. The Lord Jesus in the gospels says, “All things are possible for one who believes!”

So family and friends, may I ask that you also believe with me and pray for these requests?

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • Cookie Fundraiser: A Light for Valerie: Thanksgiving for the many who have supported the fundraiser and for the Lord touching people to contribute any kind of help.
  • Bone Marrow Aspiration on July 21: Pray for a smooth and safe procedure as the doctors take blood and marrow samples for Biopsy and MRD testing.
  • Bone Marrow Biopsy and MRD Results: Please pray for a miracle that the results will be negative for leukemia, trusting that God will heal me completely!
  • Wisdom for Doctors and Caregivers: Please pray for my medical team’s wisdom, skill, and discernment, especially Dr. Francisco Lopez as he devises the treatment plans moving forward — Blinatumomab Targeted Immunotherapy and or a Second Bone Marrow Transplant.
  • Discernment for Family: Please pray for the Holy Spirit’s leading, wisdom, and peace as we move forward in deciding on which treatment is best.
  • Medicine Effectivity and Response: Please pray for the TKI medicines (Ponatinib and Asciminib) I’ve been taking daily to be effective in controlling the growth of leukemia cells. Please pray that the Asciminib medicine that costs SGD 6150 or Php 280K we buy in Singapore will be available soon in the Philippines for a much cheaper price.
  • Financial Provision: Pray for financial provision and resources to meet the costs associated with treatment and care.
  • Strength and Courage: Pray for strength and courage as I face leukemia that I may find resilience in this journey.
  • Faith and Hope: Pray for our family’s faith to remain strong and for hope to prevail, despite the difficulties we face.
Thank you for being my prayer warrior and for journeying with me!
